Create timeline markers

  • Category: Import to connected app

What it is

Writes the markers given by upstream nodes onto the timeline of the connected editing app. You can also connect the frame metadata of "Get image", or the result Document / Per-frame results array of "Image describe", to write a point marker at each frame's positionSec. A frame with a caption gets its own text; otherwise the combined result.summary can be used.

This node grew out of the related Lab tools: wires in a blueprint replace the step-by-step clicks in the Lab, which makes it easy to reuse and to hand to an agent.

Inputs

NameDescription
Marker inputA unified marker document (from detect / rough cut and other upstream nodes). Use either this or frame metadata
Timeline info (optional)Fills in frame rate, sequence and other context
Frame metadata (optional)A sourceFrames array, an Image describe Document, or the "Per-frame results" output. Reads timeline.positionSec to place points; a frame caption takes priority over the combined summary

Outputs

NameDescription
Marker rangesMarkers to place on the timeline

Settings

The panel defaults are enough; there are no extra required settings.

Typical downstream

Connect it to Generate, Middleware or Import nodes as your workflow needs.

Notes

  • Before writing back to the editing app, make sure LmBox is connected to the matching app (DaVinci Resolve / Premiere / After Effects and so on).
  • If you need to take timeline media again after the import, add a new Get node. Do not connect back to the same Get node.

Agents / MCP

For agents or developers (optional)
  • Once LmBox's open MCP is connected, the full ports and settings can be read from the catalog. This page is written for people, not around machine fields.
  • Node type: marker-create
  • Input ports: marker-io (optional), timeline-json (optional), frames-meta (optional)
  • marker-io is used first; otherwise point markers are built from frames-meta / describe-io / frames-describe-io (a frame caption takes priority)
