Mask paint
- Category: Middleware
What it is
Draws an edit mask by hand in the Blueprint lab canvas, for image-to-image generation and more. It needs you to work on the canvas.
This node grew out of the related Lab tools: wires in a blueprint replace the step-by-step clicks in the Lab, which makes it easy to reuse and to hand to an agent.

Notes
- Before writing back to the editing app, make sure LmBox is connected to the matching app (DaVinci Resolve / Premiere / After Effects and so on).
- It needs hand drawing on the canvas and cannot be completed remotely in one click.
Related recipes
Combine it freely with other nodes. For common scenarios, see the recipes in the Blueprint lab overview.
Agents / MCP
For agents or developers (optional)
- It needs hand drawing in the Blueprint lab, so headless MCP cannot complete it.
