Installing the Pr & Ae extension on Mac
This page is for the older in-app extension for Premiere Pro and After Effects. For the current setup, install the LmBox desktop app and add the plug-in from the Plug-in manager.
Note
Make sure Premiere Pro or After Effects is closed before installing; if it is not, restart it after the install.
You can use either the One-click install or the Universal manual install method below.
One-click install
- Step 1: Download the Mac one-click installer to your computer, and make sure the editing app is closed.
- Step 2: Open the DMG image and run the installer inside, then follow the prompts and restart the editing app.
- Step 3: When it says the install is done, open Premiere Pro / After Effects, then go to the menu bar:
Window→Extensions→LmBox.
TIP
This is the default install location. If you need to uninstall by hand, look for it in the folder below.
The Library folder is usually hidden; hold the Option key and click Go in the Finder menu to see it.

- Step 1: Download the universal extension pack to your computer and unzip it.
- Step 2: Copy the
com.sockite.lmboxfolder inside theextension install filesfolder to one of the two locations below (either works), then restart the editing app. - Step 3: When it says the install is done, open Premiere Pro / After Effects, then go to the menu bar:
Window→Extensions→LmBox.

Note
If you are upgrading, uninstall first and then install the new version!
- Step 1: With the extension open, click the three-bar menu
≡at the top left of the extension panel, thenUninstall extension→OK. - Step 2: The extension closes automatically after it uninstalls; restart the editing app to finish.
