Installing the Pr & Ae extension on Windows

This page is for the older in-app extension for Premiere Pro and After Effects. For the current setup, install the LmBox desktop app and add the plug-in from the Plug-in manager.

Note

Make sure Premiere Pro or After Effects is closed before installing; if it is not, restart it after the install.
You can use either the One-click install or the Universal manual install method below.

One-click install

  • Step 1: Download the Windows one-click installer to your computer, and make sure the editing app is closed.
  • Step 2: Unzip the archive, run the .exe installer, follow the prompts, then restart the editing app.
  • Step 3: When it says the install is done, open Premiere Pro / After Effects, then go to the menu bar: Window → Extensions → LmBox, and click to open it.

TIP

This is the default install location. If you need to uninstall by hand, look for it in the folder below.
The AppData folder is usually hidden; type %APPDATA% in the address bar to jump to it.

shell
# Default install location. To uninstall by hand, look for it here.
C:/Users/<your name>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/CEP/extensions/com.sockite.lmbox

Universal manual install (alternative)

  • Step 1: Download the universal extension pack to your computer and unzip it.
  • Step 2: Copy the com.sockite.lmbox folder inside the extension install files folder to one of the two locations below (either works), then restart the editing app.
  • Step 3: When it says the install is done, open Premiere Pro / After Effects, then go to the menu bar: Window → Extensions → LmBox.
shell
C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/CEP/extensions
# or
C:/Users/<your name>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

Uninstall the extension

Note

If you are upgrading, uninstall first and then install the new version!

  • Step 1: With the extension open, click the three-bar menu ≡ at the top left of the extension panel, then Uninstall extension → OK.
  • Step 2: The extension closes automatically after it uninstalls; restart the editing app to finish.
