Installing the DaVinci Resolve plug-in on Windows
This page is for the older in-app plug-in for DaVinci Resolve. For the current setup, install the LmBox desktop app and add the plug-in from the Plug-in manager.
Note
Make sure DaVinci Resolve is closed before installing; if it is not, restart it after the install.
You can use either the One-click install or the Universal manual install method below.
Compatibility
WARNING
On some Windows computers the extension cannot open, because the system DLL components do not match what DaVinci Resolve depends on. To check, test the Workflow Integration plug-in SamplePlugin that ships with DaVinci Resolve (see here). If the official plug-in crashes, Workflow Integration plug-ins cannot be used on this machine. There are two fixes for now: upgrade DaVinci Resolve to the latest version, or reinstall the system.
One-click install
- Step 1: Download the Windows one-click installer to your computer, and make sure DaVinci Resolve is closed.
- Step 2: Unzip the archive, run the
.exeinstaller, follow the prompts, then restart DaVinci Resolve. - Step 3: When it says the install is done, open DaVinci Resolve, then go to the menu bar:
Workspace→Workflow Integrations→LmBox, and click to open it.
TIP
This is the default install location. If you need to uninstall by hand, look for it in the folder below.%PROGRAMDATA% is usually the ProgramData folder on drive C, which is normally hidden; type %PROGRAMDATA% in the address bar to jump to it.

Test the official plug-in compatibility
The test plug-ins that ship with DaVinci Resolve are found by clicking Help → Documentation → Developer in the DaVinci Resolve menu, which opens a folder. Inside it, under Workflow Integrations → Examples, there are three folders (the number may vary):
.Examples
├─ SamplePlugin (crashes on error)
├─ CompatibleSamplePlugin (shows a white window on error)
└─ ScriptTestPlugin (no reference value)Copy these three folders into the plug-in folder below to install them:
%PROGRAMDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Workflow Integration PluginsThen restart DaVinci Resolve and test whether it crashes.
