Import & convert
These slots all do the same thing: send footage into the editing or design app that is currently connected. Some import as is; some convert to a steadier format first. Drag the matching tool into the Toolkit, drag a file into the left slot of the floating toolbar (the slot lights up), then click that slot. You can also click the slot first and choose a file in the window that opens.
Conversion needs the transcoding tools to be set up on this computer. If it fails, check Settings → External tools & media and try again.
Clipboard / file import
Import an image or file from the clipboard, or an image, audio or video you dropped in, straight into the current app. If there is nothing usable on the clipboard, the footer tells you to copy something first.
Works with editing extensions and design extensions (Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Convert video to MP4, then import
Common videos are converted to MP4 first, then imported into the current editing app. Good for clips whose container is unstable or that the app refuses to take.
Works with Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut.
Convert audio to WAV, then import
An audio file, or a video with an audio track, is extracted and converted to WAV, then imported. Good for material you want to use as an audio track on the timeline.
Works with Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut.
Convert image to PNG
An image, or the first frame of some videos, is converted to PNG and then imported. If a design app does not open it automatically, the converted file is highlighted in the folder.
Works with editing and design extensions.
NCM import
NCM files downloaded from NetEase Cloud Music are decoded first, then imported into the current editing app. If the result is FLAC, it is converted to WAV before it can go onto the timeline.
Works with Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut.
