Sony media exchange

These three slots serve the same Sony on-set workflow: bring the exchange list into DaVinci Resolve, write lens flags back to the timeline, and reset timecode to zero. Drag the matching tools into the toolkit and click the slot on the floating toolbar to run. For the import slots you can also drop the exchange file into the left slot first and then click.

Sony FCPXML import

Import an edit exchange file (usually .fcpxml / .xml) or an exchange package into DaVinci Resolve and create a timeline in the project. It does not change the original media files.

If the default way cannot get in, the app suggests "Retry with timecode correction"; you can also try again later with the corrected copy generated in the same folder.

Works with DaVinci Resolve only. Open a project and connect the extension first.

Sony lens flags

Read the on-camera sidecar information that has the same name as the media, and write lens flags to the current project. Premiere scans the media in the project; DaVinci Resolve writes the current media pool folder. A progress bar shows in the footer while writing. If there is no sidecar, or the project has no usable media yet, the footer explains what is missing.

Works with Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.

Zero timecode for Sony media

Reset the timecode of the Sony-related media you selected in DaVinci Resolve to zero, so it lines up with the exchange list later.

Works with DaVinci Resolve only.
