Import subtitles (SRT)
Send a subtitle file into the current After Effects composition and turn it into timed text layers. Good when you already have an SRT and want to keep restyling or animating it in After Effects.
Drag Import subtitles into an empty slot. You can drop the subtitle file into the left slot of the floating toolbar and then click the slot, or click the slot and choose a file in the window. If what you dropped is not a subtitle format, a picker opens so you can choose another.
What it can do
- Recognize common subtitle files and write them to the current composition by in / out points
- Text sits at the lower center of the frame, and timing is held with hold keyframes
- If the file has no recognizable subtitle content, or After Effects has no project open or no composition selected, the footer tells you
Works with After Effects only. Open a project and select the composition that should receive the subtitles first. It does not change the subtitle file on disk.
